Getting Started

Connect LectorLibros to your own Audiobookshelf server in under a minute.

Install LectorLibros

Download LectorLibros from the App Store on your iPhone.

Open Settings

Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the app. You'll see the server configuration section at the top.

Enter Your Server Details

Fill in your Audiobookshelf server URL (e.g., https://abs.example.com), username, and password. Tap Save & Test Connection.

Note: LectorLibros uses password authentication. If your server uses OpenID Connect (OIDC), you'll need to ensure password authentication is also enabled in your Audiobookshelf settings under Settings > Authentication.

Browse Your Library

Once connected, switch to the Library tab to see all your audiobooks. Tap any book to start listening or download it for offline playback.

What is Audiobookshelf?
Audiobookshelf is a free, open-source, self-hosted audiobook and podcast server. You install it on your own computer or server, add your audiobook files, and it organizes them into a beautiful library that you can stream from anywhere. LectorLibros is a native iOS client for Audiobookshelf.
Do I need my own server?
LectorLibros comes pre-configured with a demo library of public domain audiobooks so you can try it right away. To listen to your own collection, you'll need an Audiobookshelf server. You can set one up on a home computer, NAS, or a cheap cloud VPS for a few dollars a month.
Can I listen offline?
Yes! Tap the Download button on any audiobook to save it to your device. Downloads happen in the background so you can keep browsing. Once downloaded, the book plays from local files with no internet needed.
Does it sync my progress?
Yes. Your listening position is saved locally and synced back to your Audiobookshelf server. If you listen on another device or the Audiobookshelf web player, your progress will carry over.
Does it work with AirPods and CarPlay?
Yes. Full playback controls work on AirPods (play/pause, skip), Bluetooth headphones, lock screen, control center, and the Now Playing widget. CarPlay support for in-car library browsing is coming soon.
How much does LectorLibros cost?
LectorLibros is a one-time purchase of $2.99 CAD from the App Store with no ads, subscriptions, or hidden fees. Buy it once and it's yours forever, including all future updates.
Is it available on Android?
Not yet. LectorLibros is currently iOS only. For Android, the official Audiobookshelf app is available on the Play Store.
